3 “Spooky” Books for October

Hi friends! Today I am writing a post on some of my favorite books totally on a whim. I recently have been reading books for fun more, which is fantastic, because I never seem to be reading books as much as I want. And because Halloween is just in a few short days, I thought I would share some of my favorite fiction books!

  1. The Witches of New York

I was so glad that I found this book at one of those little libraries a few months ago. Despite the fact that I had been reading it for a long time, when I finished it earlier this week, I was surprised by how easy of a read I had been. The book centers around New York in 1880 and little tea shop owned by Adeline Thom and Eleanor St. Clair, the mysterious owners. I assume that this book is very easy to read in the span of a few days, but I read it over the course of a few months and had no trouble picking it after not having read it for awhile.

2. Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories

I’ve had this book for awhile now, but it would seem odd if I left it off the list of spooky books! Someone bought this for me awhile back when I was super obsessed with the BBC Sherlock series( I still sort of am…) and I loved being able to connect the book to the show. As itself, of course, the book is a classic and I hope that one day I am able to finish all of the stories! For now, I will continue slowly making my way through them. πŸ™‚

3. Clockwork AngelΒ

Cassandra Clare’s book series are some of my favorites. Her first series, the Mortal Instruments Series, focuses on a group called the Shadowhunters in the current time period. The Infernal Devices, on the other hand, are all set in Victorian England. It wouldn’t be too hard to start reading the Infernal Devices without reading the Mortal Instruments Series, but I think it will be more enjoyable to read if you have read all of them πŸ™‚ The Clockwork Angel is the first in the Infernal Devices Series.

Hope y’all enjoyed my not-so-spooky book favorites and have a happy and safe Halloween!

Neutrogena SkinClearing Makeup!

**NOTE: I collaborated with Neutrogena for this post, and they sent me these products to review. All opinions are 100% mine πŸ™‚

Hi friend! Today I am super excited to be sharing my thoughts on Neutrogena’s makeup that is specially formulated not only to hide skin imperfections, but also help treat and prevent breakouts. I got to try out three of their products that are part of the line: the SkinClearing Mineral Powder (my fave!), the SkinClearing Liquid Makeup, and the SkinClearing Blemish Concealer.

My favorite of the products is the mineral powder, which I will absolutely be using in my everyday makeup. It is perfect to wear on top of foundation and can easily be worn on it’s own for a sheerer look. I noticed that, just like the packaging says, my skin appeared less shiny at the end of the day. The finish is matte, especially when wearing full coverage

The foundation contains salicylic acid, which is essential to treating breakouts. I personally don’t wear foundation that often, but this seems to be very lightweight and perfect for everyday wear.

I absolutely loved using the concealer, which fully covers dark under eye circles. Also made with salicylic acid, the product is formulated to help prevent acne and cover skin imperfections. The applicator is also really precise which is a major plus πŸ™‚

Neutrogena has a variety of shades to choose from, but 030 matches my skin the best.

ExperimenTIP: Try wearing all products a once as a flawless setting for your bold makeup ideas! With multiple holidays coming up, now is the perfect time to try out new looks!

Check out the Neutrogena website for more information!
